A great friend of my recommended this site to me and I LOVE it!  Its full of fun and creative ideas for modern entertaining.  These cupcakes were on their daily blog, so cute!  I have not had a chance to fully explore the site but I do see future blog posts coming out of this site. Thanks Victoria for the recommendation! (Be sure to check out

Vacation Monday!

Happy monday, I hope everyone had a great weekend!  Vacations have been on my mind lately, I am leaving soon for Kelsey's wedding!
Since I have been trying to highlight 'local' jewels, Cape Cod has been one of those places I have been dying to visit.  (Not exactly local, but I think quite possible for an extended road trip) Here is a little history taken from a local online resource. "www.capcodtravelguide.com"

"It was England's Bartholomew Gosnold who gave the Cape its name after the plentiful cod he found here in 1602. And of course, everyone knows that in 1620 the Pilgrims landed here first before they decided to go on to Plymouth to settle. More than 400 years later, visitors increase the population two and sometimes three times in the summer....
But it was due to this geological formation that the peninsula that was Cape Cod has its distinct form in the shape of a hook, jutting farther out than any other part of the U.S. on the Atlantic Ocean. It is 64 miles long in total and its width varies from one to 16 miles. In Chatham, the land bends and extends northward for over 20 miles.

With the completion of the Cape Cod Canal in 1914, Cape Cod became a bridged island, surrounded by the waters of Buzzard's Bay to the west, Nantucket and Vineyard sounds to the south, the Atlantic Ocean to the east, and Cape Cod Bay to the north. "

I think we are going to have to discover Cap Cod ourselves, along with Marthas Vineyard and Nantucket.  I would love some suggestions of places to stay or eat if anyone has been?  Hopefully sometime this summer we can road trip up there..

Happy Mothers Day Mom!

Happy Mothers Day Mom!! This is the first mothers day I have not been there to make you breakfast in the morning or to help you celebrate, being the best, most thoughtful mother! I really wanted to write a poem here to show you how much I care, though it is embarrassing how bad i am at writing poems, even worse when I try to Rhyme. You have always been there to listen.. And truly, you listen, you dont just hear me talk... You are the first one I call about something exciting or sad, and you really do have a way of pulling out a meaningful lesson out of something that seems like pure drudgery... Anyhow, I love you and can not wait to carry on the traditions you have instilled in me someday to my own children. Thank you for encouraging me in my creativity, (and reading this blog every day and commenting) I love you SOOOO much and can not wait to see you next. Thank you for your thoughtfullness and love!

VBS at our church is coming up in late June, June 22nd-26th, and I am helping to plan it, well whatever really needs to be done, since I have never helped with a VSB before. Our theme is Safari and the kit we got is adorable!  If anyone is living around South Riding va and wants to join sign up on our

Other updates, well I am working on creating more images and patterns for my "mix and match line".  Since I had really positive feed back at the show I am working to have everything organized and ready so I can take orders and have them processed and sent out smoothly...
This weekend is Justins 26th birthday!  I can hardly believe it, it seems so old! : ) We will spend the weekend celebrating and the weather will really depend on what we do.
